Introduction

Anne Lister wrote over 4 million words during her life! A sixth of these diaries are written in code, intended to keep the details of her intimate life and thoughts a secret. Her diaries are an amazing insight into a phenomenal women who lived her truth! (1791-1840) I'm lucky enough to be involved in the fantastic transcription project with the West Yorkshire Archive Service. Each page of Anne's diary can be accessed via the WYAS Online Catalogue . Anyone can join this project, just click HERE  to get involved. You can follow the activities of all the volunteers under the #AnneListerCodeBreaker hashtag on Twitter
