Wrote to Marian (Market Weighton) to tell her of my safe arrival here by Saturday's mail – Mrs
James Holroyd called – walked to Halifax, put my letter into the P.O and called at Northgate – I met
Miss Prescott senior there – my aunt looking as spruce as possible Mrs Veitch was to drink
tea with her – Left a note from my aunt Anne for Mrs Veitch containing a loan of 6 of Rawson’s
pound notes – 

Got home to dinner. Spent the afternoon in conversation – In the evening writing out (fr[om]
Memoranda on scraps of paper) a rough draft of what I had spent and of my journal of what
occured during my stay there – Frosty day – Barometer 1 1/2 degrees above rain – Fahrenheit 28° at 9 p.m.
